I've come to realize how much I want to make some positive changes in my life, so I’ve taken the time to reflect on a few key areas where I want to focus my energy. These include personal growth, health and wellness, and financial management. By honing in on these aspects, I’m excited to create a plan that will help me develop and enhance my overall well-being. While this list may not be exhaustive, it’s a solid starting point, and I’ll be sure to add more as I move forward.

Spend Less and Save More

I've been managing my money poorly and often end up shortchanging myself by dipping into my savings to buy things I don't truly need. Knowing that I have easy access to those funds makes it all the more important for me to be disciplined. My plan is to create a budget that focuses on my essential expenses while keeping unnecessary spending in check. This approach will help me build my savings for future goals and unexpected emergencies.

Workout Daily After Work

I used to hop on the treadmill two to three days a week but now I’m really excited to create a regular workout routine that keeps me active at least five times a week! I want to make sure I'm moving my body every day. A few months back, I had some irregularities with my period and even missed it for three months. I think my weight gain may have played a part in that and there's a chance I could have PCOS. So, I'm focusing on shedding some pounds for the sake of my health and I’m determined to make this change!

Set Aside at Least One Hour to Read

I used to read a lot of books and I genuinely miss that fulfilling feeling I experienced when I finished one. In recent years, I've only managed to read about five books a year, maybe just one or two. I want to rekindle my love for reading again. I plan to set aside at least an hour each day for books that capture my interest and aid in my personal growth. This could mean designating a specific time for reading, such as before bed or during lunch breaks, to help turn it into a regular habit.

Declutter and Aim to Live with Less

I want to embrace a lifestyle of minimalism. Ever since I discovered this way of living, I've been captivated by the idea of having less. While I know it can be challenging, I am determined to pursue it. I truly want to simplify my life. I plan to sort through my belongings and declutter my space, keeping only what I genuinely need and cherish. I've already begun this process and aim to donate items to those in need. My goal is to cultivate a more peaceful environment and foster a mindset focused on intentional living.

Get Enough Sleep

I know I've been sleeping late every day. It's time to prioritise adequate sleep which is crucial for my overall well-being. I will aim for at least seven to eight hours of quality sleep each night by establishing a consistent bedtime routine and creating a restful sleeping environment.

Cut Down on Sugar and Eat Healthily

Let’s focus on healthier eating. I seldom consume soda or sugary drinks, but I do have a sweet tooth and enjoy cakes, kuih, and bread. However, as someone managing PCOS, I need to be intentional about my meals and avoid anything that could worsen my condition. It’s essential for me to incorporate more hearty meals and reduce my intake of sweet treats. By making these changes, I hope to cultivate a healthier, more balanced lifestyle that aligns with my values and goals.

Wish me luck!

A few months ago, I told myself Id try to get back into writing. I managed to put up one post but after that I just disappeared. I am disappointed in myself for not keeping up with it. I still want to write but honestly, most days I just stare at my blog and can’t find the energy to start.

Lately life feels like a hollow shell. Im lost, unsure where to begin or what to reach for. Some days, I ache to do everything at once, while other days, I crave nothing at all. Living in this tug-of-war is draining. Decisions slip through my fingers and my mind goes blank when the world feels too heavy. I long to ground myself in something real yet my reality is so quiet with no one nearby to invite over for matcha latte or to swap favorite books. I miss that simple, shared warmth. I feel like I barely have friends these days. The ones I do have are wrapped up in marriage and kids, so asking them to hang out even once a week feels impossible. That’s why I’m teaching myself to do everything solo, though sometimes the loneliness sneaks up on me.

I genuinely enjoy my own company and find comfort in solitude. But still, I am just a human and I ache for genuine connection. I cant help but envy those with close-knit circles of friends, wishing I could have that too without forcing myself to fit in or worrying about being judged.

I crave a fresh start. I long for a steady routine, something I can truly commit to. Because I am the kind of person that cant live without a plan. My days will drift aimlessly like a boat tossed on restless waves.

Last January, I reached out to a psychiatrist for an ADHD screening, certain that something deep within me was out of place. Instead, the doctor revealed a different truth. After hearing my story, he said I might be carrying anxiety and high-functioning depression, not ADHD. The realization struck me like a wave. I move through life as if I am unscathed, but beneath the surface, I am covered in invisible wounds and bruises. Since that session, I keep asking myself: am I truly okay, or am I just wearing a mask of being okay? In that moment, I saw how I had been feeding myself empty positivity, weaving a web that only tangled me further. Sucks.

Where do I even begin to rewrite my story? How do I step out of this maze and into something new?

I genuinely miss the excitement of blogging. However, what I miss the most is the vibrant connections. Years back, when I first dipped my toes into blogging, I adored visiting other blogs. I loved exploring how they decorated their spaces and I cherished reading their personal stories. Naturally, I’d always leave comments to show my appreciation and try to make friends with them.

It was a delightful journey filled with joy and good vibes. I took my first steps into the blogging world back in 2009. Over the years, I’ve created countless blog names and URLs, and I'm crossing my fingers that this one will become my home. While I don't update my blog often, it's not due to boredom; rather I sometimes find myself at a loss for words. I worry that the repetitive of my daily routine might lead my writing to feel dull and uninteresting. I honestly don't really much to share.

But I really wanna start to dive back into writing, to fill my days doing my favourite things cause blogging once filled my heart with joy. Now I spend most of my time playing games for hours and I realize that I somehow feels a little bit burnt out hence why I am making a delibrate effort to squeeze blogging into my schedule.

I truly hope that other bloggers will make a return as well. It would be wonderful to see more personal lifestyle posts from them. I want to learn about their favorite things, the delicious foods they’ve enjoyed, their latest shopping hauls and the experiences that have influenced them. In short, I crave writing that reflects themselves rather than just a summary of drama. Lets start again and say hello to each other through blogwalking!

Till here then. Xoxo ~

Being in my 30s makes me want to have a truly peaceful life — less drama, more good vibes. Having a small circle is a bonus, so I don't need to worry about cutting people off except for strengthening my boundaries and protecting my inner peace. But that doesn't really matter cause I am focusing on myself more. I am trying my best to simplify life, which I started way back in my late twenties. The realization kicked in when I was struggling to find happiness in my life. I wrote a post about of thing about happiness last year, and being in that retrospective mode has changed my life.

Slowing down life helps me enjoy the present moment and reduce stress. Here are five things I do to simplify life and make me more at peace. It is just a teeny tiny change, but it still works wonders for me.

1. Practice mindfulness.

It is the act of paying full attention to the present moment without judgment. Live life as it is. This is quite difficult since I tend to reflect on the past and worry about the future. Keep trying until it allows you to focus on the here and now. This will reduce our tendency to rush things through life; in return, we will find ourselves smiling at the end of the day.

2. Simplify your schedule.

Reduce the unnecessary activities in your daily routine by doing fewer things. Manage your time well to accomplish your tasks. This is why I am so into minimalism, especially when it comes to space—home, room, etc. Less stuff means less time to tidy things up and more time for hobbies that bring me joy and fulfillment.

3. Unplug from technology.

Easy peasy tips! Constant connectivity on social media can lead to stress. Take a break from the screens and do something more happier. Don't waste your time reading gossip or commenting on someone's wall about things unrelated to you. It's not worth the time to be a busybody. Your own time is ticking!

4. Engage in slow hobbies.

This one depends on the individual itself. My only slow hobby is reading. I can't do gardening or knitting, so yeah, do what you love and immerse yourself in the process. Don't rush. Let the things you do give you a sense of calm and fulfillment as you enjoy the journey. (but readers dont really go slow when reading, right? :P)

5. Cultivate gratitude.

Learn to acknowledge and appreciate the positive aspects of your life, even the smallest things. It helps you shift your focus from what's missing to what you have and encourages contentment. We tend to ignore the small, treasurable things and be ungrateful, which ends up putting us in a stressful situation. Try to reflect on each thing and unfold the hidden gems.

Simplifying life can lead to greater clarity, less stress, less drama, and more enjoyment. Let's live a life full of balance and be more peaceful.

canning dimsum

Last Sunday, my siblings and I were having some dim sum at Canning Dim Sum, Imperial Palace Hotel Miri. My sister saw the recommendation from people on Facebook and said she wanted to try them out so we went there around 1130am. Upon arriving at our destination, I'm quite impressed with the place. It has a pleasant and soothing ambiance which is definitely suitable for everyone; a good spot to have a morning breakfast with family, friends or that special person.

The ordering process, however, was somewhat perplexing. We had to wait for another waiter to arrive and bring us a few dim sum suggestion boxes after the waitress who was serving us had taken our drink orders. We chose few dim sum from what he brought us on the table and then my sister and I got us a caramel pudding, mango pudding and four steamed buns with different fillings from the display case.

The dim sum were all good and tasty. But it was quite disappointing when it comes to the steamed bun. Let me tell you, steamed bun are one of my favorite thing in the world. But sad to say all that I've tried here were kinda underwhelming. It may be perfect and tasty for others but for me, I kinda dislike the filling except the bun itself, its extremely soft and I super like it.

The caramel pudding was excellent. I like the sweet bitter-ish taste of the caramel sauce and the silky soft texture of the pudding. I would definitely go for it again. As for the mango pudding, my siblings finished it all before I even had the chance to taste it lol.

On top of all, I would still love to have my dim sum session at this place again and absolutely will go for their caramel pudding since I have yet to find another restaurant that serves the dish this well.

blog setup blogging

The weather today is extremely cozy to the point of making me wanting to lay down on my bed and wrap myself in the velvety super comfy blanket. I keep yawning endlessly! The cold breeze, the sound of the raindrops and the humming melody of the car on the wet street, damn so perfect. Living in Malaysia, the weather are mainly hot and humid all the time, so when it rains, its like winning a lottery. Everyone will be happy and gratitude feelings are thrown away like a confetti.

I am much happier with my blog setup now. The color shade, the theme itself, it's warm and feels like even more a safe place to spill my thoughts. I have made few changes especially in the categories section which is fully inspired from other blogger and I love it! Here what you can browse around if you ever stumbled upon my tiny little site.

I named this blog 0029am; a letter to life because I often drowning in thoughts at midnight and have a trouble to sleep, and yeah, it's where the idea come from. This blog probably will be here even after 10 years and by that time I will go down memory lane to read how was my life before. The reminisce moments would definitely be priceless. Till here then!
